On Tuesday, May 13, 2025, the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research organized a meeting focused on the development of pedagogical programs in the Kurdistan Region. The event was attended by the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, along with university representatives from across the region, including a delegation from the University of Garmian.

The purpose of the meeting was to present and evaluate the outcomes of more than six months of dedicated work by pedagogical educators aimed at advancing teaching methodologies and curriculum design, especially within the framework of competency-based education.

The University of Garmian was represented by:

• Assistant Professor Dr. Mohammed I. Khalil, Vice President for Scientific Affairs and Higher Education,

• Assistant Professor Dr. Asaad M. Mahmoud as the leader of the program development team of the module (Edupreneurship),

• Dr. Omar M. Amin Director of the Center for Pedagogical Training and Academic Development and participated in the development of the module (Competence based Education).

• Assistant Professor Dr. Shakhawan H. Ali, who participated in the design and enhancement of modules on Research and Development.

The meeting involved the presentation of key topics, followed by discussions and the collection of feedback. The session concluded with the reading of recommendations and a collective agreement to continue developing the pedagogical programs in the coming months.
